Lakers Grizzlies Preview

The Lakers take on the Grizzlies tonight and will be looking to bounce back from their tough loss to Detroit the other night. The injuries are stacking up for LA at the minute so they will need their rotation to step up.

Injury situation.

Rui Hachimura has joined Gabe Vincent, rookie Adou Thiero and Austin Reaves on the Lakers injury list. Reaves will be out for multiple weeks as will Thiero. Now with the absence of Hachimura the Lakers will have to dig deep into their rotation. One player who is set to get a opportunity is Dalton Knecht. JJ Redick said pre game that Knecht will be in the rotation for the foreseeable future so it’s a big opportunity for Knecht to make himself a mainstay in the rotation.

Containing JA.

A big challenge for tonight’s matchup is how the Lakers will try and contain Ja Morant. In the past the Lakers have been able to lean on the defensive brilliance and rim protection of Anthony Davis to deter Morant in the paint. Tonight it will have to be more of a team effort to contain him. Does JJ Redick opt to start Marcus Smart on Morant or Jarred Vanderbilt , that is definitely something to watch.
