Lakers Suns Preview

The Lakers look to continue their winning ways on the second night of a back to back against the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers are currently on a 7 game win streak and sat second in the west but are still 4 games back of the Oklahoma City thunder who are 20-1 on the season.

Luka’s continued excellence

Everyone knew the quality that Luka Doncic bought to LA when he got traded to the Lakers in February. But his talent is really on full display to open up this season. Doncic is currently leading the league in scoring at 35 points per game. He’s also averaging over 9 assists and nearly 9 rebounds per game. The impact he has on this Lakers team is obviously huge but it’s important he is monitored closely going forward, especially as the lakers face more back to backs as he’s averaging nearly 38 minutes a night.

Injury updates.

Lebron James is set to return tonight after missing the first leg of the back to back against the Pelicans with injury management. Marcus Smart however will miss another game tonight due to a back injury. It will be interesting to see how the lakers manage their players this week as they face another back to back later in the week against the Raptors and Celtics.
